Who's at fault if your dog attacks a cat that is on your property?
The cat was for lack of a better word, tresspassing and should not have been on anybodys property. If a cat was harmed or killed by a dog on their own property it is no ones fault except for the owner that allowed the kitten or cat to wander off. You have no control if an animal like a cat wanders onto your property, their are plenty of cat aggresive dogs out their. It is just in the species nature to hunt prey and a cat is prey to some dogs. Now if it had happend on the owner of the cats property then you would be liable, but your dog did it on your property.
