I want to be an obstretrician?

My OB GYN is only at the hospital delivering babies one day a week and that can go all night. The other people in the clinic take shifts so someone is always on call. The other days she is monitoring and giving tests to the pregnant moms. They have a 24 hour call in group that handles the emergency questions and schedules the appointments. If they aren't sure of a answer they will ask the OB and get back to the mom. I think the hardest part is taking care of the baby during delivery and learning what can go wrong and knowing how to keep mom and baby alive and well.
