I usually have a great "gaydar", being bisexual myself, but there is this slightly older woman who I'm extremely inquisitive as to whether she's gay, straight, or in between. This goes for many other times. With men, sometimes it's easier to tell, and in today's society, many women are more nonchalant about their sexuality. Green Spotted Puffer acting Shy and doesn't Say Hello when I come up to the Tank.?

I got a Green Spotted Puffer probably about 4 days ago. At the moment he is in a freshwater tank because he is only about an inch and a half, he is with all of my community fish. I have read A LOT about these puffers, I made sure I knew what I was getting into before getting one. I want to upgrade to something a little harder than a freshwater, so I'm going brackish. Anyway, aren't these guys suppose to be aggressive and fin nippers, and aren't they suppose to come say hi when someone walks up to the tank? My little guy backs away and will sometimes hide when I come up to the tank. He is very friendly with my community fish and has never tried to nip anyone. He is very inquisitive and checks out his aquarium and will swim around and act like a normal puffer in that sense, and he has a nice round belly and I keep his well fed, and I give him snails to ensure his teeth don't get too long. As I said before I know how to care for these guys, but he is more shy and friendly than aggressive. Is this normal for a young one, will he grow into his aggressiveness? If he doesn't than that would be nice as he could have tank mates. At the pet store I got him from he actually got picked on by the other puffers in the tank, if that makes a difference at all.

I am TERRIFIED for my first job! advice?

Okay so i just turned 16 thursday and i have never worked day in my life before. I think i'm going to be working at this little outside snack bar that serves ice cream, hot dogs, burgers, sandwichs and that kind of stuff. How do I make a proper American style beef burger?

The tastiest way to cook burgers is on the BBQ, but pan frying works well too. For each burger, use 6-8 oz. of ground beef. The best burgers do contain some fat, so try to purchase chopped/minced beef that is 75-80% lean. Season each side of the patty with salt, preferably Kosher or sea salt and black pepper. Place the patties in a hot skillet, reduce heat to medium high, leave them there until they can easily be turned without sticking to the pan. Cook on the other side for about three minutes. If using a BBQ, cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the patties. Always allow the patties to rest for a minute or two to distribute the juices. Serve on hamburger buns or rolls with lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced onion, or not. Why doesn't my puppy like to go on walks?

He's very young. At his age, he isn't 100% sure he's safe when he leaves home. You may need to carry him to a new place, then sit and stay there for a little while, holding onto his leash. When he's more confident, he'll love going for walks. In the meantime, keep using his leash. Take him a short distance away from his comfort zone at first, then add a few feet at a time. Patience. Rat toy ideas for an inquisitive Friend?

I recently bought an albino female rat which I named Friend. It's still possible to get into a decent college. You can always go to a smaller college and transfer to a more prestigious one. I'd suggest getting a book at the library about self esteem/depression because it has exercises to help rationalize your problems and make you feel better about yourself. I also suggest to focus on your goals and ways to get them. Keep looking for new solutions if one thing doesn't work. And fill your days with activities that you enjoy. Volunteer work is also good for making friends, and it gives you a boost to your feeling of self worth. Eat right and exercise too. A councilor/therapist may also be a good option for you. I know you may have heard this before, but you have your whole life ahead of you, so don't give up so easily!

I've been a swimmer for about 8 years and I still have belly fat...?

I've been a competitive swimmer and on swim teams for about 8 years (i'm 18). I realize that swimming is a great sport because it exercises your whole body. So how come I still have fat on my back, chest, and stomach?? It's kind of sad, especially compared to my fellow swimmers who have such flat stomachs. When I sit down, the fat on my stomach folds over the waistline of my swimsuit and it looks gross, haha. Not only that, but it seems to be working with the rest of my body because, well, I'm not a fat person at all. If you saw me on the street, I would not look fat at all, I would actually look very skinny. My arms and legs, etc. are in good shape and toned well. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I swam about 4-5 times a week, about an hour to an hour and a half each time. Why do I still have so much stomach fat? And I know nutrition has to do with it, and I do try to eat healthy. My mom is a health freak, so I only eat brown rice, whole grains, and healthier meals and some vegetables. Of course, a few times a week (maybe like 1-2 days) if my mom runs out of dinner ideas, we'll have burgers, pizza, etc. But I don't indulge all the time. Please help me out! Is there something I'm not doing right at swim practice? I'd really appreciate any tips and advice!

As you said they are all different, but basically they don't help you with your sick dog. You have to turn it over to them, if they'll accepted, and chances are it will be euthanized, depends on breed, size, etc. They do run clinics couple of times a year for low income people, but like you said, timing wise it may just be at the wrong time and not when you need it. You should try to find a no kill shelter, and see if perhaps they could help you out. I hope there isn't anything major wrong with your dog. Best of luck to both of you!

When the male licks the glands, the musky odor is produced. Syrian hamsters have two glands while dwarf hamsters only have one. Why is my potato gun not working?

I've made a potato gun, or at least attempted to. For some odd reason, I can't get it to fire the potato. I hooked up the igniter wires to where they're able to create an arc in my 13" segment of 3" pvc pipe. I use a cheap aerosol hairspray as the fuel, and I've put a potato in my 5' segment of 1.5" pipe in a way where it's acting as a plug, not letting air through so it can be pushed after the combustion. It seems that it's not lighting the aerosol after I put the cap on, but after I take the cap off and press to ignite, flames shoot out. If anyone can figure out what I'm doing wrong or what I'm missing, I'd appreciate it. :) Thanks

Ok, so me, my girlfriend of 6 months, my best friend (dude), and possibly 1-3 of my girlfriends best friends are coming over to my house for a 4th of July type small party. There will be swimming, volleyball/badminton, soccer, fouseball/airhocky/pingpong/billiards. We won't do all of those things but the point is we have several things to do. Legit reasons for not being allowed to train at another dojo?

You mistakenly assume cross training means you can just train in another school anytime you want. If we were to really examine the true spirit of cross training and the context in which it is used by martial artists, it assumes that the one who cross trains already has achieved a proficient level of skill and understanding of the basics of his base art. Meaning a 1st Degree Black belt in Karate who joins an Aikido class can be considered to be cross training, but a white belt in the same karate school joining an Aikido class would not. A white belt does not have the level of understanding and skill in one art enough to be able to compare, differentiate and appreciate the principles of both arts, so how can he be considered to be cross training? He's basically just learning two different skill sets at the same time, which as most would point out can hinder your progress in both arts. So I don't see anything wrong with your instructor prohibiting you from training in another school while you are still at novice or Kyu level.

Im gonna try and make this short. Me and my boyfriend had sex 3 weeks ago without a condom and he came inside of me and i had accidently missed a day of birth control and i still hadnt taken it the day me and him had sex. so pretty much 2 days. 3 weeks later (now) Ive been having sleeping troubles...Im not constantly tired..im like NEVER tired. and i keep getting headaches and migranes every single day. i feel naseaous (no throwing up) alot. and i also have been peeing slightly more than usual. also, my birth control makes me have my period for a week (its never been shorter/longer than a week. birth control makes it REALLY regulated.) on the tuesday at the end of every month and on that tuesday i was supposed to get it I DID get it but it wasnt the same bleeding i usually get. it was heavy at first and then really light and seemed to have discharge in it. then after only 3 days of having it..it stopped. im STILL supposed to be on it but Im not and havnt been on it since thursday. and i feel like im hungry all the time..but when i go to get food i start to feel sick. and things that i used to love (like burgers and eggrolls) taste wierd to me. but then again..with the food tasting wierd it might have been just because i ate somewhere different those times. one more thing..ive noticed ive had..er..well..bowel movements more than usual. WAY more than usual. after everything i eat it feels like i have to go?! so what do you think? thanks for your input!

I have a question concerning Coast Guard search and rescue?

I have wanted to be a CG officer, whether it be reserves or active duty, for a very long time now. However, I am seriously considering enlisting in the reserves while I am still in college, so that way I can build up a better resume than the one I have, in hopes to get into either ROCI or OCS. Since I am a Emergency Management major, if I do enlist, I am hoping to get a spot as a OS, or Operations Specialist. If that is the case, how much face-to-face action will I see? In other words, as an OS rate, will I actually be out there helping to save the people, and if not, what is/are the jobs that directly deal with that?

At home workouts to do for a 13 year old girl?

ok so this is a repost because I got one shity answer from KATY IS DRUNK. I'm a 13 year old girl, im 5'4.5 and weigh 125. I don't look like I weigh 125, I look like I weigh 130 or something. It's just a nasty gene I got from my dad. And don't say reduce the amount of food you eat during each meal, because I usually have a decent sized breakfats (usually oatmeal or a bagel flat), a small lunch because school food sucks, and usually a soup or a salad with the occasional half of a burger. I suspect the annoyance is as much in their heads as in your behaviour. There are people that will complain no matter what-if that is the case, don't hang with them they are not worth it. On the other hand, you indicate you may have some social awkwardness. If people don't like you "pulling their leg" then maybe you should just stop. Not everyone enjoys that, and it may embarrass them if they thought you were truthful, or just aggravate them that you seem to be name dropping. Talk-but encourage the other person to talk more. Ask them about themselves, then sit and listen. Head nodding, or brief "really?" type comments will convince them you are the best listener in the world. Monitor your volume. Stay loud enough to be heard, but not so loud EVERYONE can hear you. Leave relatively early. No one likes the person that closes the bar, or won't leave so the hosts can straighten up and go to bed. And make some other friends so that you can rotate who you hang with.

So lately my brother got a ps3 for his birthday. He already has a gaming laptop, xbox, wiii and a iphone4, and an iPad. He is a gaming JUNKIE... He can't stoP playing games. We then go to the grocery store while he walks around with his iPad. We then get home when he locks himself in his room for hours on his stupid xbox/ ps3. Let's just not talk about dinner... Yepp, I have a three year old and she's the same way. Into everything, wanting to touch and know what everything is! She's just so curious about everything so when she's constantly asking what things are, I can't help but just explain it. She's young and experiencing new things. It's annoying at times, but as long as she's not breaking things or getting into anything dangerous - I let her explore.

It is extremely easy to become vegan or vegetarian... The thing is you just have to do it. Like tomorrow just say I am cutting out meat forever. You will find food to eat.. It is quite simply. But if you prolong it you wil just stay addicted to animal products.. It is easier to pull off the band aid.. And after I became vegetarian, I noticed that I had stopped drinking soda completely, which shocked me because I used to drink sodas like no other, but then I couldn't stand carbonated drinks anymore.

2 year old cat suddenly has difficulty walking and is very tired.?

The cat was very active, inquisitive and a big jumper. In a matter of 2 weeks, he started to get clumsy and then could not get up and walk. He then spent most of the day sleeping. We took him to the vet who did X-rays, blood and urine tests which did not find anything. He still has an appetite and drinks water (although, not as much as usual). The vet is now recommending a whole series of expensive tests (we are in it for $500 already) and indicated that they may not show anything up. Does anyone have any suggestions or have a similar experience?

Me and my dad got into a big arguement. I am 14 years old and my dad treats me like a little girl. i feel strangled .......my bestfriend who ive known for 7 years(half my life) lives 3 blocks away. she sleeps over all the time but i cant sleepover there cause she has two older brothers(19 and 20) and that is my fathers "reason" why i cant sleepover there. Then her brothers left off to travel around the country and she lives just with her mom. her dad doesnt live with the family....so she asks me if i can sleepover and i ask my dad and he says no!!! like wtf her brothers arent there anymore...why would he say no. i ask him why and he says "Because i dont feel comfortable" .....i got so pist at him. i have been waiting for 7 years to sleepover. he lets me sleepover other friends houses but not my bestfriend??? he wont let me go to the mall with my friends....he picks me up like an hour early before a party qactually ends. I want to be an obstretrician?

My OB GYN is only at the hospital delivering babies one day a week and that can go all night. The other people in the clinic take shifts so someone is always on call. The other days she is monitoring and giving tests to the pregnant moms. They have a 24 hour call in group that handles the emergency questions and schedules the appointments. If they aren't sure of a answer they will ask the OB and get back to the mom. I think the hardest part is taking care of the baby during delivery and learning what can go wrong and knowing how to keep mom and baby alive and well.

We picked up a 6 week old kitten from a newsagents on Sunday.The previous owner said that he eats kitten food. We have tried him with water, kitten milk and dry and wet food mixed, he will drink milk and a little water but not eat at all. He is otherwise healthy and very inquisitive.

Why is Steak 'n Shake so popular in the east coast?

I don't get it. I live in central florida, and I've been to several steak 'n shakes. Every one of them had mediocre to bad service. The waiters/waitresses wouldn't seat you for like 5 minutes or more even when there are booths/tables open. They are too busy running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I know they can be busy, but its so unorganized. It's like they don't know what they're doing. And they are such a pigsty at times, with messy booths/tables not cleaned yet. Don't get me started on their food, because their burgers are ok, nothing amazing. The shakes are the only thing going for them, because the fries suck :(
